INDEAR is pioneer with its platform for production and recovery of commercial-interest proteins from safflower seeds, which implies huge challenges in terms of design and innovation of processes for the entire Engineering Team.

The purpose of the pilot plant is the engineering-based integration of technologies developed in the R&D platforms of INDEAR, which result in an industrial solution to meet the market needs in a sustainable way. Based on the complementation of our areas, we believe than a turnkey product can be delivered which responds to the new paradigms of bioeconomy.

Using the safflower seeds as the substantial input, our goal is not only to recover recombinant proteins but also to use and fully exploit the seed energy. In this way, we integrate the technology associated to the exploitation of Molecular Farming bioproducts with the developments from the R&D platforms of the Institute, in order to turn the seed into a biomolecule-generating source.

The highly qualified Engineers and staff working at our Pilot Plant are focused on the development and continuous improvement of these processes. Our operations have the latest technology equipment used according stringent regulations and standards related to the manufacturing of food-grade products.
